Targeted Next-generation Sequencing (tNGS) combines multiplex PCR and NGS to identify hundreds of known pathogenic microorganisms and their associated virulence and/or drug resistance genes in the specimens. The methods excel in its sensitivity, enabling the detection of pathogens even at low concentrations in a cost-effective manner.
Features:
Compared to mNGS, tNGS is less costly with a well-defined detection range, and can be used for screening for common infections or for the detection of specific pathogenic microorganisms.
